The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has sanctioned a total of 11 baseball teams for the National Alliance of College Summer Baseball (NACSB). The Syracuse Salt Cats played in the Eastern Collegiate Baseball League for two seasons before entering NYCBL in 2010. Players from a number of colleges and universities located in the United States of America and Canada have been an active part of Salt Cats.

Syracuse Salt Cats are one of the most active multi-media team in the NYCBL. Following is a list of some of the best performances by the team with their gameplay and winning streak and leads stat:

  1. The Salt Cats competed against Generals in the New York Collegiate Baseball Action and won with double-digit wins. The team was in the top of the seventh innings with a 5- 4 lead. However, it doubled in the bottom of the seventh inning thanks to an RBI double by James Thomas, RBI Single by Justin Clark, and a two-run double by Joshua Rodriguez. The team touched a 6-5 record putting them above the .500 mark while the General dropped to 3.10 on the season. Matt Hardy collected two hits in the win. This is the win when Salt Cats reached double digits against the Rome Generals.
  2. One of the best performances by the team until date, the crowd cheered for Anthony Galanoudis after he managed to tie the ball game with a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning. These two runs managed to pull in a six-run bottom for the Salt Cats in the eighth inning while winning over the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs in the NYCBL (New York Collegiate Baseball League) action. With this win, the Salt Cats moved to 17-17 on the season whereas The Jr. Chiefs with a loss fall to 21-15.The Jr. Chiefs had zero scores through five innings before scoring in the sixth, seventh and eighth. However, in the decisive bottom of either inning, Galanoudis turned on a winning pitch, Sanchez started with a single and Baker followed a walk.
  3. Against a match with The Flames at the Onondaga CC Baseball Complex. The flames trailed early but couldn’t possibly achieve a comeback as the Syracuse Salt Cats created a winning streak with a 7-3 win.

The Salt Cats scored 4 runs in the first five innings while the Flames scored 3. Still with a lead of 4-3 in the 7th inning, the Salt Cats got 3 runs on an RBI double by Patrick Miner and RBI Singles from Christian Naccari and Michael Gorman. Starter Zach Kemp picked up the win by improving to 1-1 on the season as he allowed 7 hits, pitched 5.0 inning and struck out 6 batters.

The Syracuse Salt Cat improved to 6-8, 2.5 games back in the New York Collegiate Baseball League Eastern Division while Onondaga Flames dropped to 7-7, 1.5 games in the Eastern Division of NYCBL.

This was one of the most prolific wins for Syracuse in June 2018.

Other crushing wins by the Syracuse were against the Sherill Silversmiths. They have managed to pull of two winning streaks against the Smiths this time with an 11-5 streak.

The Salt Cats are an active baseball team striving towards better wins and strikes. They have been proving better at not just NYCBL but all other games as well. Though there have been times when they are shunned out by another winning team, Salt Cats come back stronger than before. Their game plan is surely one that entices any baseball fan.
